ABOUT THE ARTIST
Francine Picard is Huron-Wendat and comes from Val-D’Or. She spent her childhood near lakes and forests, where she drew her artistic inspiration. She studied fashion design in Sainte-Foy.
Colors, textures, and above all, interior decoration fascinate her. She has been devoted to palette knife painting since 2006. Francine had the opportunity to create a mural for the Huron-Wendat nation through a commission from Tourisme Wendake in 2010, in L’Ancienne-Lorette. For this project, she traveled to Lyon, France, to receive training from the mural painters of CitéCréation, which she completed upon her return to Quebec with MuraleCréation.
Francine Picard has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in recent years: the 11 Nations exhibition at Marché Bonsecours in Montreal in 2011, the “Mirror of a nation” exhibition at the Musée des Abénakis in 2017, and the Animal plurality exhibition in 2023. In 2024, the artist also contributed to a group exhibition at Nominingue station and “Boreal wildlife” at the Huron-Wendat Museum.
