Individual Support

Sacred Fire Productions is running our first ever Holiday Fundraising campaign #Decolonizeyourcollections – support local and Indigenous artists.

We are calling on all our community members and supporters to give generously this holiday season and help us keep up the work we have been doing the past 10 years.

Through our commitment, we have built bridges between North and South, and across sectors in our society. Our actions have connected decision-makers to the public in order to shift the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous  peoples, initiating true dialogue in a step towards reconciliation and a different future.

Sacred Fire Productions has proudly:

  • Created urban spaces for Indigenous artists;
  • Responded to the calls to action by the TRC on education and inclusion of Indigenous participation into today’s economy;
  • Strengthened the framework for Indigenous artists/youths in keeping aligned with their values and culture in urban settings;
  • Encouraged the development of knowledge, personal and social skills (pride and self- confidence) for Indigenous artists/youth in the urban Indigenous community;
  • Participated in the creation of networks addressing the various barriers to Indigenous entrepreneurial and social development.

When you give to Sacred Fire Productions, you are creating spaces for Indigenous artists’ to share their stories and recount their teachings. The lasting effects of residential schools and now the COVID-19 pandemic, are having devastating impacts on Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island. The history of Indigenous peoples needs to be preserved and shared — let us play our part in breaking isolation and continuing to tell these stories through the universal language of arts and culture.

Corporate and Foundation Support

You can help us in our mission to build bridges between Indigenous artists and audiences of all ages and backgrounds, including urban areas, so that these artists can assert themselves, develop and live better from their art. Your support will be crucial in the revitalization and reclaiming of Indigenous arts and cultural practices that are traditionally rooted in the communities.

Here is how your company can support reconciliation:

  • Sign up to our Corporate Membership Program;
  • Organize a fundraiser at your office holiday party and raise money for Sacred Fire Productions;
  • Spread awareness about our organization, the cause we support, and the incredible artists we work with on your networks by sharing our campaign content on your social media and other platforms.

Among our many celebrated moments in the last decade, we are proud to highlight the following:

  • Working with over 125 artists from every Canadian province and territory and being able to directly return a total of $1.4 million to the artists after sales;
  • Organizing 90+ cultural events and exhibitions at the Ashukan Cultural Space in Montreal and elsewhere;
  • Welcoming 180 000+ people the Ashukan Cultural Space between 2015-2020;
  • Welcoming 35 000+ people the Mixed Arts Festival between 2012-2017.

Your contributions will further breathe life into Honouring our Stories, including our upcoming mural project “Inspiring Dialogues” that started in the summer of 2022 and will continue well into 2023. Large scale art murals will be painted onto city walls across the province of Quebec in partnership with Creativo Arts Collective, a Chilean arts collective. These murals tell stories our artists have grown up listening to, passed down to them by their community elders. They promote the teaching that “Indigeneity is not a monolith”.

Additionally, in an effort to support the artists we work with directly, invite you to #decolonizeyourcollections and check out our stunning collection of Indigenous Art on our website now!
