Sacred Fire Productions is running our first ever Holiday Fundraising campaign #Decolonizeyourcollections – support local and Indigenous artists.
We are calling on all our community members and supporters to give generously this holiday season and help us keep up the work we have been doing the past 10 years.
Through our commitment, we have built bridges between North and South, and across sectors in our society. Our actions have connected decision-makers to the public in order to shift the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, initiating true dialogue in a step towards reconciliation and a different future.
Sacred Fire Productions has proudly:
- Created urban spaces for Indigenous artists;
- Responded to the calls to action by the TRC on education and inclusion of Indigenous participation into today’s economy;
- Strengthened the framework for Indigenous artists/youths in keeping aligned with their values and culture in urban settings;
- Encouraged the development of knowledge, personal and social skills (pride and self- confidence) for Indigenous artists/youth in the urban Indigenous community;
- Participated in the creation of networks addressing the various barriers to Indigenous entrepreneurial and social development.
When you give to Sacred Fire Productions, you are creating spaces for Indigenous artists’ to share their stories and recount their teachings. The lasting effects of residential schools and now the COVID-19 pandemic, are having devastating impacts on Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island. The history of Indigenous peoples needs to be preserved and shared — let us play our part in breaking isolation and continuing to tell these stories through the universal language of arts and culture.
